Class w/ Stephanie Land

Many regular readers of the Moving Up Mondays newsletter may know that I have a podcast called Attribution, distributed in part by NPR. Attribution is where people from all walks of life reflect on who and what has contributed to where they ended up. Our hope is after each episode, you feel a little more inspired, grateful, or supported, than when you first hit play.

Episodes come out once a month and if you don’t mind one more email in your inbox from me, I’d like to begin sharing these with you directly - one Wednesday each month. I think you’d find these conversations both valuable and inspiring.

You can listen with the audio player above or better yet subscribe or listen on your preferred podcast platform. Links to the show are provided below.

Our most recent episode features Stephanie Land, the New York Times bestselling author of Maid: Hard Work, Low Pay, and a Mother’s Will to Survive which is now the inspiration for the Netflix series of the same name. Her latest book, Class: A Memoir of Motherhood,  Hunger and Higher Education is out now. During our conversation we talked about the challenges and judgment that she and other single moms have faced simply trying to create a better future for themselves and their children. This was an important conversation that I hope will change the way we see and support single mothers.
